Hummingbird Travel is a luxury travel specialist partnering with travel professionals to deliver bespoke journeys worldwide. This project involved designing an updated tote bag for them featuring a collection of illustrated stamps, each inspired by a destination within the Hummingbird portfolio. I developed six distinctive stamp designs, each featuring a landmark or defining scene associated with its destination. Drawing on vintage travel stamps and postcards, I combined illustrative details, decorative borders and individual colour palettes to give each design its own identity while keeping the collection cohesive. The artwork brings together a mix of destinations, from the Nine Arches Bridge in Sri Lanka to the granite boulders of the Seychelles, creating a collection of little travel-inspired illustrations on a natural canvas tote. Together, the stamps draw on the look of vintage travel postcards, with each representing a different destination while forming part of a cohesive collection.
The destinations:
Caribbean — Sailing boat and tropical palms
Sri Lanka — Nine Arches Bridge
Seychelles — The iconic granite boulders of Anse Source d’Argent
Mauritius — Le Morne Brabant
Maldives — An overwater villa
Mexico — Chichén Itzá
